Hi All,
Just a quick update.
It has been very hard to do any work on her until just recently due to the weather. Lots of snow and sub-zero temperatures.
The 343 is in front of the V70.
The temp on the way to work one morning, -17F.
We've had another foot or two of the white stuff since these pics were taken. I finally was able to dig her out and work a bit on her. I purchased an idle solenoid from Weber Carbs Direct.

It turns out that the solenoid wasn't to blame. It was the #10 fuse! I replaced the fuse and she purred like a kitten when idling. I moved her around in the driveway, back and forth a few times, and the fuse blew again. The solenoid shares the same circuit as the heated seats (yes, it has heated seats, although they do not work and are disconnected) and the reverse or back-up lights. It seems when I put her into reverse it blows the fuse. Anyone else experience this problem? Bad ground?
Also, she seemed to lack power when I had her on the road. Maybe the carb needs adjusting? I did fiddle with the settings :crazy1:before I realized it was the solenoid. What do they say, "A little knowledge is dangerous"?

Fiddling with the carb is not a great idea if you have no idea how to measure it exactly. It can be done just by listening to the engine, but this requires some experience. So, maybe it just needs adjustment at a garage now (CO measurement)?
Maybe Anjo can help you, I heard he's great with Weber carburetors. He will fly to the US for you, at low cost

the knowledge how to tie a noose has been known to be very dangerous indeed :+
You might want to un-fiddle the setting again, but this can only be done when the engine is properly warmed up.
Lack of power when cold is normal when you do not apply correct amount of choke! The temperatures you are expieriencing atm are very straining on a car engine (cooling and fuel system)
